Policies and Contract
 
FOOD
All food items must be supplied and/or prepared in a strictly Kosher supervised kitchen. Food can be warmed or plated on site with kitchen rental.

ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES
Caterer/Host is responsible for the administration, distribution, and service of all alcoholic beverages in compliance with existing liquor laws.

LIABILITY
Organization reserves the right to monitor all Events but is not responsible or liable for any injury or damage to persons or property not caused directly by its employees. Damage to the property at the premises by the Host or Host’s guests will be charged and is the responsibility and liability of the Host. The Organization is not responsible for personal property and equipment brought onto to the premises by the Host, Host’s guests, or Host’s subcontractors. A security deposit of $200 is due at the time of reservation. After the event is over and it can be determined that no damage was done to the property the damage deposit will be returned within 30 days. If the damage deposit does not cover the expenses of the damage, the Host will be held liable for any additional costs incurred.

All Caterers and other contractors hired for the event must provide proof of liability and workers’ compensation to the Organization prior to the event. Proof of insurance from suppliers of “inflatables” or similar entertainment/carnival activities must be on file with the Organization’s business office.

RESERVATIONS
An event will only be secured once a down payment has been received. The check is to be made payable to "Jewish Family Experience". Members in good standing may schedule an event up to two years advance. All other events may be scheduled no more than 12 months in advance.

PAYMENTS
A deposit of 50% of the total amount due is required to the Organization to secure reservation. Payment in full of the balance due to the Organization is required at least 3 days before the Event. No setup, or deliveries of food, will be accepted without payment in full of any balances owed to the Organization.

CANCELATIONS
If event is canceled up to 3 months before event, 100% down payment to be returned; up to 30 days before event 50% to be returned; 14 days before event 25% to be returned; less than 14 days down payment to be forfeited.


EXCUSED NON-PERFORMANCE
If for any reason beyond its control, including but not limited to strikes, labor disputes, accidents, commodities or supplies, or acts of G-d, the Organization is not able to perform its obligations under this agreement, such non-performance is excused, and the Organization may terminate this agreement without further liability of any nature upon return of the down payment of the Host. The Organization shall not be liable for any consequential damages for any reason whatsoever.

CONDUCT OF THE EVENT
The Host assumes full responsibility for the conduct of all persons in attendance and for any damage done to any part of the premises of the Organization, during any time such premises is under the control of the Host, Host’s agents, guests, employees, or independent contractors. The Host agrees to and indemnifies and holds harmless the Organization against any and all claims, liabilities or costs, or property damage, arising out of or connected with the Event caused by or contributed to by the intentional acts or negligence of the Host or Host’s guests, or agents of the Host or any independent contractors hired by the Host.

MISCELLANEOUS
The following restrictions are in effect and subject to application of the Security Deposit to cover damage or extra expenses incurred.
  • The use of glitter, confetti, foam, silly string or other materials requiring excessive cleanup is not permitted in the building.
  • No exposed flames are permitted in the building. (Candles surrounded by glass are acceptable.)
  • Table coverings may not be attached to the tables with staples, thumbtacks or nails.)
  • Nothing may be attached or hung from walls, ceilings or room dividers (Mechitzas) without specific permission.
Any damage or excessive wear to the facility that requires non-standard maintenance will be covered by the funds of the Security Deposit. The Organization is not and will not be responsible for any items belonging to the Host, Host’s agents, guests, employees or independent contractors left after the rental period. Any Host requirements for tables, chairs, risers, equipment or supplies other than our standard inventory, will need to be arranged directly by the Host. The Host is responsible for all related fees. The Host will make arrangements with the Organization for any drop-off, pickup, setup or tear-down of these extras. Additional janitorial fees may apply. Events which include “inflatables” or other items which could overload the facility’s electrical system must provide stand-alone electrical generators to be placed outside the facility in accordance with relevant fire and safety codes.
